Class Descriptions


Yoga’s for everyone. So whether you can’t quite reach your toes, can bend like a pretzel, or just want to sit quietly, we’ve got something for you. And feel free to experiment, that’s what yoga and life are all about!

And because we believe that to unleash the full power of the practice, yoga must be taken off the mat, all classes go beyond the physical and provide students with practical bits of time-tested wisdom that are rooted in an authentic yogic lineage.

An introduction to foundational poses and breathing techniques.  Great for someone just starting out or for the seasoned practitioner who wants to revisit the basics.
Yin Yoga generally targets the connective tissues of the hips, pelvis, and lower spine. Poses are passive and held for a longer duration. Props are utilized and the class is suitable for all levels.
A blended practice of being encouraged to challenge ourselves, yet honor ourselves, all in one. Advanced variations and challenging asanas (postures) will be offered. But most importantly, you'll be encouraged to practice your practice, in an open, and safe space. All levels welcome. 
Gentle/Restorative yoga classes are typically of a more slow-paced, supportive and nurturing nature. Holding poses for longer breaths and serving to a variety of needs, including; disabilities, stiffness from lack of physical activity, injuries, beginner practitioners, etc. For all levels, advanced practitioners welcome for a more restorative practice.
 
Whether you are brand new to the practice of meditation or more experienced this class is a wonderful opportunity to sit in community.  We'll explore finding a comfortable seat as well as some instruction and tips on how to meditate. There is an opportunity afterward to ask questions and share experience. This class is donation-based. 
Level I/II is for beginners with some basic experience, those with some experience in the foundational poses and those looking for a less intense practice. Level 2 variations of poses will present more challenge. Both options are given.

A chanting segment of rhythmic singing and sounding is offered at the beginning of practice.
 
Safe, relaxing, strengthening yoga for women at any stage of pregnancy. Prenatal yoga eases the aches and pains that accompany pregnancy, calms both mother and baby's nervous systems, and prepares the body to give birth. No previous yoga experience required. One of the only prenatal yoga classes in the Nyack, Piermont Rockland County area!
A vinyasa flow set to a heat of about 75°F – 80°F.
Level I/II is for intermediate experience in the foundational poses and those looking for Level II variations of poses for optional challenge. Both options are given.
